Dr. Matthew Lane

MS, DVM,  CCRT

A native of the Texas Panhandle, Dr. Matthew James Lane attended West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX before transferring to Colorado State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. He furthered his studies in anatomy and neurobiology, receiving a master’s degree, and ultimately completed his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2004. 


Among his many other talents, Dr. Lane is also a certified canine rehabilitation therapist. 


His biggest achievement is the family he has created with Nancy, with whom he has three children – oldest daughter Lexi, second daughter, Landi, and son, McCrae. They also have adopted two dachshunds named Heidi and Beatrice from the DFW Dachshund Rescue Group.

Dr. Kara Harman

DVM

Dr. Harman is originally from McKinney, Texas, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She spent 4 years playing Division I soccer at Rice University in Houston, Texas, and graduated with her Bachelor's in Biological Sciences. She went on to vet school at Texas A&M and graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2021.


Dr. Kara Harman has a special interest in animal behavior, is certified in Fear Free medicine, and has a soft spot for working with animals to make sure they have the best experience possible.



Dr. Harman is married to Max, who is a Marine Corps veteran. They have a son, Mikhail, and are planning on continuing to grow their family. They have 3 dogs: an English cream golden retriever (Kalli), a Staffordshire/chow mix (Cary), and a husky/heeler mix (Koda). In her free time, Dr. Harman enjoys hiking, hunting, and spending time with her family.


Dr. Rebecca Brennan

MPH, DVM

Dr. Brennan grew up in a small farming town near Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by animals. During high school, she worked for her local family veterinarian. Later, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, to attend LSU Health Sciences Center, where she completed her Master's in public health.


After that, she worked as a veterinary technician in New Orleans for six years before pursuing her DVM degree. In 2022, she graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Her professional interests include dentistry, nutrition, surgery, and acupuncture/integrative medicine therapy.


In her free time, Dr. Brennan enjoys exploring Texas' delicious local restaurants and spending time with her one-eyed canine Jack, and King Charles the cat.



Dr. Lanier

DVM

Dr. Lanier was born and raised in North Texas. In 2015, he completed his undergraduate studies at Cameron University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. Dr. Lanier graduated with his DVM in 2019.


He spent his first 3 years of vet school at Ross University of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed his Clinical year at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His interests include: orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and providing the best care for his patients.


Dr. Lanier loves to spend his free time with his wife Meredith (who is also a veterinarian) and newborn son, Halston. He has a herd of animals with 3 dogs (Bea, Cowboy, and Emmie) and 4 cats (Milo, Riley, Boo, and Nimbus).



Dr. Ashley Brooks

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Ashley Brooks knew from a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She graduated from Oregon State University in 2011 and worked at a general practice hospital in Las Vegas for 5 years before she and her husband, who is also a veterinarian, moved to Liberty Hill to start their own veterinary practice in 2016. 


Dr. Brooks is passionate about veterinary care and fostering the human-animal bond. Her main veterinary interests are emergency medicine, surgery, and dermatology. She loves all aspects of the profession. Her main influences for how she practices veterinary medicine are James Herriot and her husband.


In her spare time, Dr. Brooks loves spending time with her husband and 2 children on their small farm with her many beloved animals.



Dr. Matthew Brooks

Dr. Brooks developed an interest in veterinary medicine during his work at a small animal clinic and a zoo in his hometown of Tampa, FL.  He pursued his education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and accomplished a Bachelor's degree in Biology, a Master's degree in Epidemiology and Biosecurity, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.  After graduating in 2004, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he worked for four years as a veterinarian before opening Town Center Animal Hospital under the direction of Dr James Nave. 


In 2016, he relocated his family to Texas to open New Hope Animal Hospital.   Since then he is excited to work in his hometown at Liberty Hill Animal Hospital.  His professional interests include minimally invasive surgery, clinical pathology, and preventative medicine.  He is also proud of helping the stray animal population by offering lower-cost spay/neuters and partnering with local rescue groups. 


His favorite team is the Texas Rangers.  He and his wife Ashley, who is also a veterinarian, have a cow-calf operation of full blood Aberdeen(Lowline) Angus. 



Dr. Isolde Parrish

Raised in Central Texas, Isolde Parrish will soon be fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian as a member of the Texas A&M class of 2024. Before vet school, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She is eager to join the Liberty Hill Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2024.


Dr. Parrish has a passion for working with both animals and people alike. She loves the joy that comes from caring for clients and has a particular interest in surgery.


She is excited to bring the newest veterinary innovations to the Liberty Hill community. In her free time, Dr. Parrish loves to spend time outdoors with her husband, baking or curled up with a good book and her cat, Zaina.
